This piece draws a direct parallel between modern gang violence, fast-food culture, and urban food deserts. While gun violence poses an immediate, visible threat to human life, systemic dietary deprivation operates silently—inflicting slow, long-term damage on individuals and communities. Featuring an amplified model of a MAC-11 machine pistol, the work uses visual malapropism to reframe corporate fast food as an instrument of violence. Fabricated from formed metal and painted elements, the sculpture examines how economic enclosure and limited access to nutrition leave lasting scars on society.
