AR School
This piece is about school shootings and is the first piece in the series I have been working on about this subject. It is not an easy subject to address, but one I am invoked to speak about.
The model of an AR-15 is depicted as a blow-up child's toy presented with a fill valve at the end of the gun barrel and its inflated appearance, the trigger is worn down from over use, and the steel surface is engraved with a repeating sentence:
"I will not bring a gun to school"
over and over again.
the faint lines represent the guide lines found on school chalkboards.
These sentences represents an old practice of reform of writing on the chalkboard a sentence over and over about something a student did wrong... as they remain after school has let out for the day.
